Our Impact
The schools and communities we've supported across Eastern Samar.
Making a Difference
Since 2014, Project Sulangan has worked with elementary schools in some of the most remote communities in Eastern Samar. We've rebuilt classrooms, delivered hundreds of books, school supplies, educational materials, and IT equipment — giving children the tools they need to learn and grow.
Where We Work
Sulangan, Eastern Samar
The school that gave our charity its name. Located in the coastal barangay of Sulangan, this was one of the first communities we supported after Typhoon Haiyan. After the typhoon destroyed the original building, we rebuilt the school from the ground up — giving children a safe, permanent place to learn once again. Alongside the rebuild, we've continued to provide books, supplies, and educational materials.
Barbo, Eastern Samar
Barbo is one of the schools that benefited from our expanding programme of support. Students here have received books, school supplies, and access to educational materials that would otherwise be unavailable in this rural community.
Behind the Numbers
Behind every school we support are the communities that call these barangays home. These are families who survived one of the strongest storms ever recorded, who rebuilt their homes with their own hands, and who continue to prioritise their children's education despite the challenges they face.
The teachers, parents, and local leaders we've worked with over the years are the true heroes. They welcome each delivery with warmth and gratitude, and they ensure that every book, every pencil, and every resource reaches the children who need it most.
For many students in these communities, the materials provided by Project Sulangan are the only educational resources they have access to. A single textbook can be shared among an entire classroom. A set of coloured pencils can bring a child's first art project to life. These may seem like small things, but in communities still recovering from disaster, they make all the difference.
