We visited Baras Elementary School in October 2017 and this was our first visit to the school. Baras is one of the barangays meaning villages between Sulangan and Guiuan. We met with Principal Cesar C Gayoso who told us that what the school was really in need of was a multi purpose building which could be separated into a library and a room for IT. Principal Gayoso also informed us that they only have 7 computers between 150 plus children and their library is non-existent. Principal Gayoso was a great educator to meet, a kind person who was clearly passionate about education.
What is needed from us?
A new multipurpose building to accommodate 30 children to house a library and a computer section combined.
